White Fur Stains Are A Thing Of The Past With Tear Stain Remover

By: Jillian Plankston

Whether you are a show dog breeder or just the proud owner of a fine looking dog, you will want to keep your dog in tip top condition, including avoiding white fur stains.

White dogs suffer with tear stains which are very visible against their pale fur.

There are many reasons why a dog's eyes will water excessively.

A simple bacterial infection could be behind excessive tear production. This can be followed by a yeast infection which causes dark red marks on the dog's "cheeks".

Fleas could also cause over production of tears along with hereditary aspects, allergic reaction to food, blocked tear ducts, ear infections, too great a mineral concentration in the water and more.

Changing your dog's diet may solve the issue if food is the culprit. A water test can be done just by substituting normal water for filtered water and seeing whether there is an effect.

Sometimes your dog might just have teary eyes, and you need to sort it out just at that moment.

White dogs are particularly susceptible to noticeable stains.

Don't just go for human soap to clean your dog's face. If you must use a detergent use a dog shampoo and don't get it into the eyes; you will still need to wash it off.

Not very practical if you are in a show or hiking twenty miles from the nearest bathroom.

Thank heavens for Eyewipes from ClearQuest, which you can use on cats and dogs. Eyewipes should be used to gently cleanse the area around the eyes.

They are a fantastic invention for clearing up debris from round the eye area.

The benefits are multifold - cleaning the area will remove any stains for shows, it will reduce the chance of eye infection or could be used to clear debris away from the eye, and it's a handy product to keep in your pack while hiking with your dog.

No rinsing required.

Available in packets of 100; the ingredients are: Deionized Water UV Sterilized, Cocamido Propyl Betaine, Propyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben and Boric Acid.

Be careful not to touch the actual eye itself with the wipe, as this could irritate.
