Some people say they dislike disposable hearing aids mostly because they are not custom fitted like the conventional hearing aids. But many say they like the disposable hearing aids because they come in different prescriptions or settings to match the particular user's level of hearing problem.

It's true that the smaller hearing aids are, the more expensive. So, if you are one that hates big hearing aids, then be prepared to pay good money for the small ones that can be almost unnoticable.

Despite how small and very well hidden the modern hearing aids are, they good news about that is this - they work marvelously better than the big and very conspicuous ones of old. So, don't let the size confuse you that they don't work. They do.

If you are having problems with your hearing aids, don't attempt to fix the problems yourself, unless you are highly skilled in such things. If you are not, it's best to consult your audiologist about the problems. He or she is the best to help or advice you on how to solve the problem.

The most important advantage of analog hearing devices is also the important drawback. And that is the ability to amplify the sounds of just about any frequency. This makes adjusting the analog hearing aids to an appropriate level of sound very difficult, because each person has a different and unique type of hearing problem.

What to do when told your kid or anyone you care about has hearing problems is NOT to lose hope but to start looking for the right hearing aids for them. Talk to your audiologist and you will be surprised that there exists the exact type of hearing aids that will solve their hearing problems.

No matter how much you value the opinion of your family doctor, don't listen to him or her when it comes to matters of the ear unless he or she is a professional audiologist. An audiologist is obviously the only expert or professional that can handle any hearing related problem. People make the mistake of thinking every doctor is an audiologist. This is far from the truth.

If you are thinking you can't afford the expensive types of hearing aids, don't worry about it. There are less expensive hearing aids that work very well, no matter how critical the hearing problem is. Such less expensive hearing aids include the disposable hearing aids. The shelf life of such disposable hearing aids is usually less than 40 days.
