Full Face Helmet - Cars Or Motorcycles

By: John Daniele

Motorcycles never have been known for their safety. Any vehicle has its risks though. Often times the operators of cars are not watchful enough of the cycle riders. Both the motorcyclist and the car driver need to watch for each other. The cycle rider should keep their lights on rain or shine and remember always to wear their helmets just to be careful.

All riders should be concerned about being safe. Often times this is attained through donning boots, leathers, gloves, and of course a helmet preferably a full-face model. A jacket and pants is what the term leathers refer to because these are usually made from leather, which protects one from skin scraps. The rider can happen to have a fall with the bike that all of this gear will protect and safeguard the rider from. Full-face helmets are not required but they are strongly recommended as the helmet to purchase due to the extent of the coverage and protection they offer.

Cycles and cars have a certain presence that is appealing but in ways not similar to each other. Depending on which color and style you choose in the brand you like a car can be either big and clunky looking or small and sexy looking. With cycles it can be similar with the exception that bikes also show the whole body of the rider and cars do not.

The rider in all his leather gear is seen by everyone around unlike the car drivers. When a rider is all decked out in their gear they can be quite a sight especially with the full-face helmet. Men and women both with admire each other on their bikes. But if the rider happens to be a woman she may get a tad more attention than a man.

The way cars use gas should be a crime sometimes. Certain models just plain use too much gas. Better mileage is happening more these days but still not what it should be. And with gas prices at all times high prices this has become a major problems for some people.

But with cycles it is something different. You may have to stop and get gas more often but only due to smaller gas tanks that only hold about 12 gallons. Because the bikes are not as hefty weight as most cars are this causes them not to burn as much gas trying to move them on the road. The extra weight of the rider on the bike really makes very little difference as to how the cycle performs gas wise. The mileage that is attained with a tank of gas is much more satisfactory on a cycle compared to a car.

The biggest thing that cars and cycles don't have in common is price. The cost of cars is much higher than cycles. Even you buy a clunker in a car for a few hundred dollars chances are you are going to have to put thousands into it to get it fixed. Even the price of a new air conditioning unit for the car could be what a motorcycle would cost. With even cars that are brand spanking new you may have to do work on them. There are those emissions tests, brakes that need to be replaced, and front end alignments that cost a pretty penny. Heck did you know that a car loses almost one third of its value just coming off the lot. You can afford all your gear along with your helmet plus for the cycle for less than the money used for fixing the car.

A cycle is just plain cheaper than a car even with the expense of all the gear and add ons. For about $300 you can get a cycle that has been ridden before. Put that cost together with the fantastically good gas mileage and your wallet will be so grateful.
