Virginia, with its myriad of historic attractions and splendid scenery, is an ideal spot for an old-fashioned country Christmas. There are plenty of interesting seasonal events, and some excellent bed and breakfasts, where you can truly savor the spirit of Christmas.
If you enjoy history, plan your holiday stay in Orange, Virginia. Much of this quaint, historic village is located in the National Register of Historic Places. The town is also within easy driving distance to four presidential homes, several of which offer Christmas and holiday events.
Celebrate the season the Presidential way with a trip to Mount Vernon. During the month of December, visitors can enjoy the Mount Vernon by Candlelight event. There are two concerts, gingerbread and lace ornament workshops, and, of course, the home decorated for the holiday season.
