In a current survey conduct by the survey group Harris International, this year exposed that people from all walks of life do not fully understand the dangers of diabetes. People survey were more frightened of contracting cancer than they were of contracting diabetes despite the actuality that each of the 2 diseases are contracted by ten million people every year in America alone.

The doubts of diabetes way down on their list of dreaded diseases with Cancer topping the list and Heart disease coming in a close next. The fears of the people were completely unrealistic with a lot of of them fearing plane crashes and shark bites blissfully unaware of the threats they run when it cones to diabetes.

49% of the people fear cancer more than they do any extra disease. Only 6% feared or really were aware of the threats of diabetes. This is despite 10% of the population being diagnose with some level of blood sugar troubles during their lives and being explain the danger of the disease manifest itself.

Among the people polled 4% feared shark attacks more than something else, 13% feared snake bites and 8% were fearful of spider attacks. When ask about diabetes they were at a loss for words and never knew anything about the disease. They were below the feeling that diabetes is a disease one is born with genetic they believe. So if they do not have it they will not get it. Nothing is extra from the reality. Diabetes is a very real risk with repercussion that range from kidney failure, heart failure and a lot of more complications that include joint and nerve pains.

Health check experts around the world are of the unanimous view that if one leads a healthy lifestyle with ample exercise they can avoid diabetes the most excellent way advice.
